Best Pigeon Forge Places to Eat Ice Cream
Cool, creamy treats on a warm, sunny day! Does anything sound much better than that? When you’re in the Smokies, you are in the land of handmade, homemade and tradition, and that even includes ice cream! You’ll find that our local ice cream shops use their own secret recipes, serve treats in old fashioned settings, or offer up the good stuff right where you’re having fun at your favorite Pigeon Forge attractions. While you’ll find a great local creamery, you’ll also have the tried and true flavors of nationally known ice cream shops too!
The Apple Valley Creamery Ice Cream & Bake Shop
Apple Valley Road, Sevierville | (865) 429-4113
Apple Valley Creamery is an old fashioned ice cream parlor and bakery at the Apple Barn Cider Mill & General Store. (Technically in Sevierville, but close enough to be Pigeon Forge.) Using the finest, natural ingredients – locally sourced whenever possible – you’ll be served ice cream “as close as you can get” to traditional hand cranked! Their melt-in-your-mouth creaminess is so good, they create up to 1000 gallons every week during peak visitor’s seasons.
While you’ll have over 40 flavors to choose from, we suggest you try their signature French Vanilla Bean, Butter Pecan, Caramel Turtle Fudge, or Smoky Mountain Fudge. Low-fat and sugar-free flavors also available.

Mad Dog’s has doggie treats too, and outside picnic tables and water bowls.
TripAdvisor Review: Great Place for a Snack!
Stopped in for a bite of something sweet and this was a great choice! Be forewarned: the scoops of ice cream are extra, extra large in size. One scoop is more than a person can eat (well, almost!!) Their single scoop is the size of double scoops elsewhere. They also had a good selection of flavors.
Old Mill Creamery Homemade Ice Cream & Treats
Old Mill Square, Pigeon Forge | (865) 453-4301
New look, new flavors! The Old Mill Creamery at Old Mill Square has updated their ice cream parlor and added a few signature ice cream flavors. The flavors incorporate local, farm-fresh ingredients from Lafayette Farm, grains from The Old Mill, homemade candies from The Old Mill Candy Kitchen, and spirits from the Old Forge Distillery served in sugar cones or dishes, sundaes and shakes. We wouldn’t call these ordinary flavors:
• Biscuits ’n Honey Ice Cream: Loaded with torn biscuits and flavored with Sourwood honey.
• Old Mill Cream Pie Ice Cream: Chunky pieces of the Old Mill Restaurant oatmeal cream pie made with thick-cut, rolled table oats.
• Gristmill Toffee Grind Ice Cream: Pieces of buttery Toffee from the Candy Kitchen and unbolted, white Corn Grits from the Old Mill.
• Salted Caramel Candy Ice Cream: Incorporates Candy Kitchen’s vintage recipe caramel.
• Whiskey Ribbon Ice Cream: Laced with Old Forge Distillery Moonshine and Candy Kitchen homemade fudge.
