Creative Stamping and Scrapbooking Retreat
It’s sad, really, that the term “rubber stamp” has become synonymous with unimaginative and unexamined sameness. Folks who pursue rubber stamps as a hobby know well that the creative possibilities for the craft are nearly limitless. Combined with other paper crafts like punching and folding, there’s no end to the interesting and delightful creations that rubber stamping can make.
For anyone wanting to explore all those possibilities to the fullest, Stamp Escape 2016 is the place to be. From April 21st to 23rd at the Music Road Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, a 14,000 square foot meeting space, teachers from all over the country will instruct attendees in multiple techniques for maximizing the art of rubber stamps.
Whether you’re new to rubber stamps and hardly know an ink pad from a brayer or you’re a seasoned veteran well versed in the differences among the myriad applications of metallic inks, you’ll find a class offering to suit your next pursuit. Active scrapbookers, too, can learn a thing or two to apply to their growing projects. Through the many stamping classes offered, attendees can learn to build seasonal cards, construct floral-inspired pieces, make wine bottle sleeves, fold pop-up cards and pinwheels, and piece together accordion-style books. Students can learn blending techniques, folding skills, faux stitching looks, stenciling, and how to make everything sparkle and shine with a wide variety of embellishments.
On April 22nd, attendees can Stamp the Night Away. Throughout the evening there will be make-and-takes. Spend 15 minutes and then move on the next project. Folks who stay for the entire evening will leave with 10 finished items and a complimentary Goodie Bag.
