Winter Races Support Local Charities
Just because the weather will be cold doesn’t mean you can’t get outside for a run. With three special races this winter, the Sevierville area is the place to be for folks who like to lace up their shoes for a chilly race near the Smokies. So limber up those legs and hit the pavement for some great fun runs supporting local charities!
Smokies Holiday 5k

The first race of the winter season will be held on December 9-10. The first annual Tennessee Smokies Holiday 5k will be presented by The Inn at Christmas Place and will take place in the Smokies Stadium parking lot. Runners will follow the course through the spectacular Shadrack’s Light Show and will finish on home plate.
All pre-registered runners will receive a goodie bag and race t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers overall. The top two male and female finishers in each age division will also receive prizes. Everyone gets a race medallion.
Check in is from 11:15-11:45 p.m. and the race starts at 12:30 a.m.
Santa Hustle 5k and Half Marathon

December 11, the day after the Smokies Holiday 5K run at the Smokies stadium, runners can put feet to the course at Wilderness at the Smokies for the Smoky Mountains Santa Hustle. With runners decked out in Santa Hats and beards, this 5k and half marathon this race is as much for spectators as it is for the participants.
In addition to Christmas music, holiday decorations and candy & cookies along the course, there is an after party so you can share your holiday spirit with family and friends.
Pre-register for the event and then pick up your race day packet between 6:15-7:15 a.m. for the 7:30 a.m. start. Medals will go to 5k finishers, and all participants registered in advance will receive a Santa hat, beard and Santa Hustle performance hoodie. Dress like Santa and run, run Rudolph!
Warrior 10 Miler and 5k

On March 11, 2017 runners and walkers can take part in the Warrior 10 Miler and 5k, a race for a cause. This race is sponsored by Chiropractor Dr. Josh Chambers and Crossfit Sevier to benefit Wounded Warriors in East Tennessee. With multiple options for participation, no age or physical ability is left out. Folks can run, run/walk, or run only. There will be a 10 mile, a 5k, and new for 2017, a Military 10 miler, Military 5 k, Kids Warrior 1 Mile, and a 1 Mile March for all families and veterans.
The races will follow a route along Veterans Boulevard. Entry guarantees an award commemorating the run. All participants who pre-register will receive a t-shirt. Awards will be given to the overall top finishers and to the top finishers in each age division.
Check in from 7-8:30 a.m. for the 9 a.m. race on Saturday. Race packet pickup is on Friday, March 10 from 2-7 p.m. at Tennessee Spine on Collier Drive.
