Free Teaching, Singing and Fellowship Event
Over four days in July, the Riverbend Campground in Pigeon Forge will host The Jesus Rally, a Christian worship festival that has been going strong for 15 years. From July 8 to July 11, people from all across the Southeast will gather to hear live music and inspirational Christian messages.
The free event starts at 6 p.m. each evening, rain or shine, so you can make your plans firm and arrive early to get a great spot. If the weather turns a little ugly, you can hang out under one of the shelters or tents until it blows over. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to spread out at the venue. You can bring a picnic, too, but you’ll need to leave your pets at home for the evening.
On Wednesday, July 8th, Roger Williams will open the festival with a solo performance, followed by Dove Award-winning Big Daddy Weave. The speaker for the evening will be Jason Roe, general evangelist for the Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Thursday night will open with Craig Whittaker, followed by Among the Thirsty, who were called “…The Beatles of Christian music” by Jon Rivers of 20 The Countdown Magazine, and David Dunn, a reflective singer-songwriter. The speaker will be Fred Lynch, who performed in the late 80s with the Christian hip-hop group P. I. D. (Preachers In Disguise).
On Friday night, Steve Blakemore will open. Longtime Jesus Rally favorites The J. J. Weeks Band headline the bill for the day. Caleb Bislow, author of Dangerous: Engaging the People and Places that No One Else Will is sure to captivate the audience.
On the final day of the festivities, Pigeon Forge’s own Gum Stand Baptist Worship Band will open, followed by Carrollton, who hail from the town of the same name between Cincinnati and Louisville and who record on the Centricity label. Roger Williams will speak Saturday evening.
With three hours of entertaining, uplifting, and spiritually invigorating artists and speakers each night, The Jesus Rally might be just the boost you need in the middle of the summer. Bring your family and friends too!
